The grassy area beside Coolum Beach Surf Club has been dubbed ‘the grassy knoll’.
Recently the grassy knoll underwent a major makeover. The local council asked for tenders from local artists to submit their ideas for a new artistic bent. The winner installed a display of glass jellyfish and brass turtles. These are situated in front of the beach shower and are based around the artist’s concept of raising awareness of the fragile environment of the loggerhead turtle and other local marine life.
Relax and enjoy the view of Coolum Beach or Coolum Central from the timber seats which is decorated with pictures of Coolum’s historic past.
